Want to apply for the game?
The Application
NOTE: Please read the rules and the faq before you apply. It will save you time and effort in the long-run. Please also check the adoptables to see if your (canon) character has been played before, as you will have to adjust your bio.
OOC Stuff
1) Name of some kind/Gender: We don't care if it's real, it's just something to call you. Knowing your gender is just for clarification's sake.
2) Age: This should, in theory, be real.
3) AIM SN: Please make this lowercase. This will be shared in the Player Directory. Let us know if you don't use it much.
4) E-mail: We also list these in the Player Directory so people can contact you. Again, please write this in lowercase.
5) How did you find out about Attestatio de Vita? Please be as specific as possible.
6) Have you been in Attestatio de Vita (or its former name What We Do) before? If yes, please state who you played, who your pb was, and the reason you left the storyline.
7) Are you new to journaling and will need some help?(This does not affect your application) Please state if you're new to journal's in general, or just rp by journal.
8) Do you need help finding icons?
9) Out of curiosity, have you seen any or all of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and/or Angel the Series? (This will not affect your application unless you're applying for a canon in that verse.)
IC Stuff
1) Character Name: Self-explanatory. Yes, this should be their real name. If your character didn't have a last name in the series, make one up.
2) Alias: Nicknames, past aliases (aka: fake names!), and current aliases all go here. Just say what's what, so we don't go around calling your character by a name that no-one's supposed to know.
3) Age: Self-explanatory. And we mean real age, not how old they look. If you're playing a canon, in most cases, you can just guess a realistic age.
4) Faction: What group are they part of? What group would you like them to end up with? If you want them to be independent, say they're independent. Factions are listed on the premise.
5) Alignment: Good, Evil, or Neutral. Them's the options.
6) Occupation: Even while she was kicking butt and saving the world, Buffy still had to hold down a job to pay the bills. Remember the Doublemeat Palace? Yeah.
7) Species: Are they human? Are they a vampire? If they're a demon, tell us what kind. (You can take a species from the show, if you've looked it up, or you can make one up yourself.) Same thing if they're a half-breed -- tell us what each half is.
8) Background: It doesn't have to be a novel, but it should at least cover the basics of how the character got to be wherever they were before they got here. 250 word minimum. But we encourage you to write more. Know your character.
9) Personality: Mucho importante! How does the character act? What motivates them? What are their weaknesses? This is probably the most important section of the app. (This still applies to canon characters. We know what Dawn's like. We know what Lorne's like. We just want to make sure that you do.) 215 word minimum.
10) Powers: Don't write a dissertation, here, just a general rundown of how their powers work and generally how strong they are. Be sure to list any weaknesses/vulnerabilities. If your character is a run-of-the-mill human, you have our official permission to leave this part blank.
11) Skills: Because being a Slayer is great, but it doesn't help you write your Calculus exam. Again, just a general overview is fabulous. (IE: "Karate - Black Belt.")
12) PB: Your "played by" - the actor or model you'll use to portray your character. We encourage you to use someone with some decent pictures.
Misc. Stuff
13) Sample Roleplaying Post: This can be a sample of any character (a link to a thread is fine, just specify which character you wrote for), unless you are applying as a canon. Then we ask that you provide a sample of them.
14) Character Connections: Does your character have a sibling, relative, best friend?
15) Concluding Notes: Anything else you want to share?
Once that's done, e-mail it to The.gang at chello dot nl and please make your subject title: Attestatio Application : (Name of character)
Please be patient when it comes to response time; we do have something that occasionally resembles a life.
NOTE: Once you're approved (that means a reply e-mail saying you're in), please go here.
